Born in Port Leyden, NY, Lois graduated from Port Leyden High School followed by SUNY Canton in 1957. She raised her children and worked at the family insurance agency, Upstate Factors, Inc. Lois was a communicant of St. Augustine's Catholic Church where she served on numerous faith-filled committees over the years. Lois had a kind and friendly spirit with everyone she met and a quiet, quick wit. She loved the joy of Sunday dinners with her family, holidays, birthdays, and every type of occasion to gather together her kids, grandkids and great grandchildren. Lois inspired her family and many others with her inner strength and positive outlook. Despite life's many challenges, she was always amiable and upbeat. She said she was the luckiest person alive.
The family and Lois thank Dr. Daniel Bingham for keeping her alive for 20 years following a 3–5 year diagnosis, the most amazing and caring staff at McHarrie Pointe, where she lived since 2017, and the compassionate staff who eased her last few months at McHarrie Syracuse Home.
