Obituary

Linda Carole Barnes, 77, passed away unexpectedly on August 20, 2026.

Born in 1949 in Carthage, NY, to the late Carlton and Elinor LaMora (Pacific), Linda devoted much of her life to caring for children and serving her community. For 36 years, she was the owner of Linda's Little People, where she provided childcare to hundreds of families and touched the lives of generations of children.

Linda was active in many organizations throughout the years. She served as a Cub Scout Den Mother, Brownie Scout leader, and Sunday school teacher at St. Mary of the Assumption Church. She was also a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Columbiettes 5082 and was honored as Columbiette of the Year in 2000.

Linda especially loved the Christmas season and enjoyed transforming her home into a winter wonderland for family and friends to enjoy. Generous by nature, she was always willing to support local organizations and causes that were important to her.

In addition to her parents, Linda was predeceased by her stepfather, Art Pacific; her sister, Anne LaMora; and her daughter-in-law, Karen Barnes.

She is survived by her husband, Bruce Barnes; her children, Byron R. "Willie" (Joy) Barnes, Erik Barnes, Rebecca Clark, Jenna (Brandon) Sullivan, and JoAnne (Nicholas) Butler; her brothers, Ronald (Constance) LaMora and Alex (Richard) Larche-Pacific; as well as 11 grandchildren and many friends.

Calling hours will be held 4 -7 pm, Thursday, August 27, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am, Friday, August 28, at St. Mary of the Assumption Church, Baldwinsville, with burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery.
