Kevin L. Tansey, 58, of Baldwinsville, NY, died Saturday, January 26, 2008, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse, NY. He was born in New London, CT, and moved to the Baldwinsville area in 1975. Kevin graduated from Montville High School in 1967 and graduated from Thames Valley State Technical College in Norwich, CT, with an AAS industrial engineering degree. Kevin was currently a risk management specialist with QES Churchill Environmental Health and Safety Consultants. He previously owned Property-Casualty Services Company and also was a senior engineering consultant and fire protection specialist for Aetna Life and Casualty Company in Syracuse for 25 years. Kevin was a former member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. He was chairman of the operations committee in Radisson and an avid golfer.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Robert B. and Gertrude A. Tansey, and a sister, Barbara Rubright, formerly of Orlando, FL.

Survivors: his wife of 37 years, the former Leslie E. Chartress; a son, Kevin L. Tansey Jr. and granddaughter, Kaelyn Tansey of Forked River, NJ; a sister, Shelley Kutia of Graham, NC; and a nephew, Richard Rubright of Orlando, Florida.

Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, 2008 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville, NY. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, New London, CT.
