Jr.
August 27, 1938 – April 26, 2016
Kenneth Cook, Jr., 77, of Baldwinsville passed Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Syracuse Home. He was born in Auburn, graduated from Skaneateles Central and the University of Miami in Florida. After teaching Physical Education for several years in Florida, he returned to NY. Ken taught Physical Education for 31 years in the Baldwinsville School District at Reynolds, Durgee, and Baker High. He coached JV Soccer, Freshman and Varsity Basketball.
Activities that enriched his life were coaching basketball, being a fireman at Belgium Cold Spring Fire Department where he served as Chief, Commissioner and active in many Fire Associations. He served his community as a member of the Parks & Recreation Commission, Safety Council and coaching at summer basketball camps.
He is survived by the loves of his life his wife of 49 years the former Tully Turner two daughters, Cammy (Bruce) Sherman and Jodi (John) Burgess; grandchildren, Elizabeth, Cameron, Joshua Hannah, Patrick, Kaci, and Zoey; and his sister, Sally (Richard) Snyder .
Myrtle Beach was a home away from home January – April after retirement. Summers and Fall a place in Fair Haven, was filled with lots of fishing with his boat and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00pm Friday, May 13th at Grace Episcopal Church, 110 Oswego Street in Baldwinsville
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the BCSFD Ken Cook Scholarship Fund, 8435 Loop Road, Baldwinsville, NY 13027.
