Obituary

Kenneth G. (Ike) Burton, age 92 of Baldwinsville, NY, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2024, with family by his side at Crouse Hospital. Kenneth was the son of the late Clifford M. and Teresa (Zollo) Burton.

Kenneth was a graduate of Baldwinsville Academy in 1951, where he participated in four years of baseball, footfall and two years of basketball. He played on the school team that was entered into the Cooperstown Hall of fame in 1950, and recently was inducted into the Baldwinsville Athletic Hall of Fame. He later played softball in an adult league.

Kenneth was retired from Gould Pumps, formerly Morris Machine Works, in 1985 after 35 years of service, and was also a self-employed contractor for many years. Kenneth also worked for twenty years at Goike Flowers on route #31.

In addition to his parents, Kenneth was pre-deceased by his wife, Joan (Barnum) brother, James Burton and sister, Barbara (Burton) Kline.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, Kathleen E. Burton and husband, Douglas Raymond, of Raymond, Il., daughter, Deborah Barber and companion, Bill Brown, of Baldwinsville, NY., son, Michael (Lila) Burton of Metairie, LA., sister, Martha (Chris) Cane of Baldwinsville, NY; granddaughter, Mallory (Shawn) Schmuck, and great-granddaughters, Paige and Riley Schmuck, several nephews and nieces; and his longtime companion, Shirley Turcotte.

Thank you to Crouse Hospital doctors, nurses and staff for their compassion and care during Kenneth's time in Comfort Care.

Services will be Private with no calling hours. Interment will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville, NY.

Falardeau Funeral Home of 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville, NY is handling the services.
