Kathleen Watt age 78, of Baldwinsville New York, passed away on August 8th, 2024. Born in Syracuse in 1946 she lived in the area her entire life and moved to Baldwinsville in 1975. She received her bachelor's degree from SUNY Oswego and a Masters Degree in Social Work from Syracuse University in 1981.

Kathleen served her community as a therapist with the Onondaga County Dept. of Mental Health from 1974 until her retirement and was passionate about her work and helping the youth of our community. She was a volunteer with her church, the local chapter of the Travelers Club, Everson Museum, and many local organizations, in person when she was able, and through support and donation in later years when her mobility was limited.

She was a true 12th woman champion of Syracuse sports, and the HS and college sports played by her sons, nieces and nephews, and believed with all her heart that whether in the stands or watching at home, her enthusiastic cheers would and could affect the outcome of the game she was watching.

She is survived by her husband, Eric Merson; her son Brian C. Watt; her sisters, Mary Woodard and Clair Stuart; her brothers, Bill and James McLaughlin; her daughter in law, Valerie; and grandchildren, Ava, Austin and Mason Watt; nieces and nephews, Nannette, Gordon, Karen, Kimberly, James, Crystal, Michael, Julie, Mark, Tasha, Lauren, Dillon, and Roxy; and a loving circle of extended family and friends all of whom she deeply valued her relationship with and spoke of often. She was preceded by her first husband Charles and her son Kevin Watt.

Calling hours will be on Saturday, September 14, from 9 – 10:30 a.m. at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Episcopal Church, 110 Oswego St., Baldwinsville.  Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
