Obituary

Our mom for our lifetime....our dad's wife of 56 years, a sister for 70 plus years and a friend for as much time as you were lucky enough to know her. Mom embodies every single one of these...traits....Strength, generosity, family, competitiveness, friendship, loyalty and love. Strength: living and fighting and enduring a disease for over 50 years, overcoming obstacles that would have broken so many others. Generosity: you needed it? She made it happen. You mention you like one of her crafts or are in need of something....anything...It was filed and delivered at the perfect moment.

Family: I'll get back to this... Competitive: outside looking in, you'd never guess how much this woman wanted to win. Whether watching our sporting events growing up or playing cards as adults. As they say....Apples don't fall far! Friendship: ohhhhh this friendship thing she has. Anyone that can accumulate as many friends....and good friends....that our mom has....you are a very special person. Loyalty: loyal to the bone. If you know, you know....do not mess with Joyce! Love: moms love of our dad is the forefront on this, then us three kids, her pup cooper and everyone she calls friend or family. Now, Back to family: this means different things. Obviously, Don, Joe (Kim)Tim (Amy) and Krista (Mary). It means her brothers and sister.

All of her extended family of Aunt Rita, cousins, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. It also means the families from the relationships they built in their communities and travel. The Copenhagen friends and neighbors that became family and gave all of us our "home base" for years. Mom's core Lewis County General Girls were her family. The great people they camped with at Rainbow Shores, Georgia and Alabama were her family. Our mom's purpose was to bring people together, whether that was in person or through her crafts and quilts. She was so talented and shared her gifts with so many people.

Everyone mom loved will forever have full Christmas trees and warm beds! The strongest person we will ever know. We love you and will miss you every day.
