Joseph, "Joe" McGean III, 92, of Syracuse, NY passed away peacefully at Loretto Health (Cunningham) on December 14. He was born March 11, 1928 to Joseph F. McGean II and Viola Roy.
Joe graduated from North High School and served in the U.S. Navy on the U.S.S. Missouri during World War II. He was a superintendent with Visconti Construction. He was a past member of the Carpenter's Union and the Pastime Athletic Club. He enjoyed hunting, bowling, and spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his parents, his wife (Helen Lively), and a sister, Margaret McGean.
Joseph is survived by his sons, Michael (Cindy) McGean of Phoenix, NY, Richard (Wanda) McGean of Attalla, Alabama, and his daughter Sharon Ann McGean; five granddaughters, Jacqueline (Wayne) Clemens, Beth (Craig) Stevens, Lisa Aeschleman, Jessica Merulla and Jillian and four great-granddaughters, Sarah Lynn Stevens and Leigha, Ava and Madison Aeschleman.
The family would like to thank the staff of the ninth floor at Loretto's Cunningham, Dawn Paulsen, Kelly Lambert, Dana Poulin and any others who helped his stay there be comfortable. His care during this difficult Covid-19 time has been above what was expected.
Due Covid-19 there will be no calling hours and the funeral services are private.
