Joseph M. Karakas, 83, of Phoenix died Tuesday, eptember 27, 2005 at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Syracuse and raised by the Sisters of Charity in the House of Providence. Joseph was a graduate of CBA and Morrisville. He owned and operated House of Plants in Baldwinsville. He was an Army Veteran of WWII serving with the 247th Combat Engineers. Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Janice in 2000.

Survivors: three daughters, Teresa M. Brush of Homer, Anne L. Karakas of Zephyrhills, FL, and Celeste A. Karakas of Phoenix.

Services: 10:00am Friday, September 30, 005 at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial in St. Mary´s Cemetery. Calling hours are 4-8pm Thursday, September 29, 2005 at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
