Joseph F. Castro, 64, of Softwind Circle, Baldwinsville, died Sunday. Born in Watertown, he attended State University College of Technology at Alfred and received a business degree in California. He moved to the Syracuse area in the early 1980s. He retired in 1993 as postmaster at Liverpool Post Office and was a letter carrier in Watertown for several years and postmaster in Massena. He was past president of the ARC Group at Syracuse Developmental Center and was a member of Liverpool Elks Club. He was an Air Force veteran and served from 1956 to 1960 in the Security Police Canine Unit.

Survivors: His wife, the former E. Jean Cleeton; a daughter, Christine R. Lombard of Baldwinsville; four sons, Gregory S. Castro of Watertown, Joseph A. and Robert Castro, both of Syracuse, and Charles M. Lombard of Liverpool; three sisters, Carol Biondolillo of Minoa, Connie Backner of Watertown and Donna Gass of Huntsville, Ala.; eight grandchildren.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial, Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours, 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
