Obituary

John R. Poirier, 88, of Syracuse passed away peacefully Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Syracuse Home Association. He was born in Syracuse the son of the late Alphonse and Marion Lumb Poirier. He served with the 6th Armored Division in Germany and France during WW II. John was a retired employee of the Transicold Division of Carrier Corporation in Syracuse. He will be missed by all who knew him. He was predeceased by his wife, Jane Granahan, a daughter, Marie Elaine, a sister, Helen Warner, five brothers, Ed, Hap, Al, Don and Bill.

Survivors: his son and daughter-in-law, Jim and JoAnne Poirier of Baldwinsville; a grandson, Jon Poirier and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: 1:30pm Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at the Falardeau Funeral Home Baldwinsville. Entombment in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
