John A. Mero, Jr., 75, passed away Saturday with his family by his side. He was born in Plattsburgh, NY to John and Katherine Mero, was a longtime resident of the Baldwinsville area and was a US Navy Veteran. John was a pipe fitter and worked for Allied Chemical for 10 years, as well as ABJ and Associated Fire Protection. He finished his career doing what he loved most, teaching Apprenticeships for his past employers. John enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and trains. His loved the company of his grandchildren and eating at the B'ville Diner.
John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Lottie Butler Mero; children, Mary (Tom) Hall, Theresa (Patrick) Gouhin, David (Lisa) Mero, and Denise (John) Garruto; siblings, Michael (Gail) Mero, Robert Mero, and Nancy Mero; 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are 4-7 Wednesday, February 12 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. Mass of Christian Burial is 10 am Thursday, February 13 at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville.
