John F. McArdell, 86, of Baldwinsville, passed away on Monday at University Hospital. Born in Syracuse to the late Earl and Elizabeth McArdell, and spent most of his life in Baldwinsville. John was an avid Dirt Racer where he achieved recognition in the NASCAR Dirt Hall of Fame and Weedsport Dirt Hall of Fame. He also loved bowling and fishing. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his brothers; James, Gale and William, sister, Beverly Rogers. Surviving is his wife, Martha, children; Shirley (John) Ippolito, John (Linda) McArdell, Joyce (Paul) Teller, Sonja Faircloth, Julie Dotson and Earl McArdell, step-daughters; Martha Luz (Alex) Turin and Beatriz Estrada, brother, Walter McArdell, sisters; Margaret Falter, and Marie McArdell, as well as numerous cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
