John "Jack" E. LeClair, 78, of Baldwinsville passed away Saturday, February 9, 2008 at his home. He was born in Heuvelton, NY and graduated with a B.A. at Clarkson College of Technology with honors. He worked for NY Telephone after college and General Electric and retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1987. Jack was an accomplished Electrical Engineer, licensed in NYS as a P.E. At the end of his career, at Niagara Mohawk, Jack was involved in the automation improvements and relicensing of hydroelectric plants. Jack was involved in various IEEE National Standard Committees. He belonged to the IEEE, Knights of Columbus, Kasoag Lake Association, American Legion, KaNaWaKe Canoe Club, Friends of Beaver Lake, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Moose Club, Mad River Club and was a founding member of St. Augustine's Church in Baldwinsville. Jack loved the outdoors, especially his camp that he lovingly built with his daughters at Kasoag Lake. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and in the invasion of Inchon. He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline "Polly" Kelsey in 1990.
Survivors: his wife of 14 years, Donna Reed; four daughters, Patricia "Patty" (Felipe) Molina of Corpus Christi, TX, Anne (Jim) Best of Galway, NY, Marie (Neil, Jr.) LaBrake of Baldwinsville and Kathleen (Randy) Nelson of Denver, CO; six grandchildren, James "Jimmy" Fairbrother, Nicole "Nicky" Fairbrother, Neil LaBrake, III, Daniel LaBrake, Sarah Best and Matthew "Matt" Best; two great grandchildren, Chase Fairbrother and Nakayla McKampson; three step children, Craig Reed, Karen Reed of Solvay and Brian Reed of Liverpool; two step grandchildren, Jeff Lioto and Jared Reed; many nieces and nephews.
Services: 9:15am Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville and 10:00am at St. Augustine's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Dewitt. Calling hours are 4-7pm Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the funeral home, 93 Downer St.
