April 12, 1934 – April 15, 2010
John T. Housel, 76, of Baldwinsville passed away Thursday, April 15, 2010, at Syracuse Home. He was born in Syracuse and lived in Baldwinsville most of his life. An industrious person, Jack, in the past, was a delivery person for Vann's Bakery, worked for Sojdak Rubbish Removal, and with Bailey Construction. He was in partnership with Ed Bailey (called E & J Construction ) from 1957-1960 and owned E & J Construction from 1960-1971. Jack owned Farrell Plumbing & Heating from 1971-1989 and worked for his son Doug, when Doug bought the business from 1989 until Jack retired in 1994.
He was a member of LOOM Lodge 644, Past Grand of Odd Fellows and past president of Syracuse Heating Association. Jack enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, casinos, and selling Christmas trees.
Survivors: his wife of 56 years, Lela J. Duger Housel; his daughters, Cynthia L. (Michael) McGean of Phoenix, Nancy E. (Ron Bush) Housel of Plainville, Lesley F. (Paul) Crockford of Fulton; his sons, John H. (Laurie) Housel of Baldwinsville and Douglas W. (Cynthia) Housel of Fulton; his sister Frances Holland of Baldwinsville; 16 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services: 11:00 am Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 2-4 & 7-9pm Monday, April 26, 2010, at the funeral home, 93 Downer Street.
