John M. Heins, Sr, 63 of Ormond Beach, FL formerly of Baldwinsville, NY passed away at his home on April 26, 2011.

John is predeceased by his parents, Clifford and Rita Heins, and his sister Sonja Hill. Prior to his move he worked for Syroco and before that as a bartender in many area establishments. John was a member of VFW Post 1590 and American Legion Post 120 both in Holly Hill, FL, and the American Legion post 418 in Phoenix NY. He enjoyed golfing, carpentry, and landscaping along with rooting for the NY Yankees, NY Giants and SU sports.

He is survived by his loving companion of over 11 yrs, Wendy Georgiades; sons John M. Jr of Colorado, Clifford Riel of Canada; Daughters Joy Heins, and Jennifer (Carlos) Velasquez all of Colorado; a sister, Kathy Heins of Baldwinsville; two grandchildren; his niece Stephannie (John) Roziock; nephews Steven, Patrick and Philip Smith, and Daniel (Ashley) Hill. He is also survived by 6 great nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held at the Community Wesleyan Church, 112 Downer St., Baldwinsville, on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11am.
