John C. Eckel, 69, passed away Tuesday, July 17. He was born in Syracuse to Howard and Dorothy (Droman) Eckel and has been a long time resident of Baldwinsville. John loved to work on his 55 Chevy and Vespas. He valued his time with loyal friends. John enjoyed spending time up at his camp in Redfield, that he built from ground up. But most of all, John understood the real meaning of family and taught them to welcome and love everyone in it.

John is predeceased by his parents and daughter, Lisa Meeker.

John is survived by his wife, Eileen (Armstrong) Eckel; son, James (Meghan) Eckel; step-daughters, Mallory (Daniel) Coleman and Krystal Dupre; grandchildren, Stephanie, Shannon, and Sandra Meeker, Breck Coleman, and Layla and Louie Kirsch; great-granddaughter, Vivian McCarthy; brothers, Howard (Beth) and Robert (Mary) Eckel; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Calling hours are 2-5 pm Sunday, July 22, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville. A Graveside service is 10 am Monday, July 23 at Greenlawn Cemetery, 2932 Warners Rd, Warners.
