Jack Buckley, 91, of Needham, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 1, 2017, He was born on May 6, 1925, to the late Margaret and John Buckley, Sr. in Orange, NJ and grew up in Shaker Heights, OH. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa from The United States Military Academy at West Point in 1948. He received his Master's Degrees from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in Aeronautical Engineering and Instrumentation Engineering. Jack retired from the Air Force in 1958 after serving in the nuclear weapons program. He worked at General Electric in the space program until 1973 and retired from Niagara Mohawk in1990. Jack was active in the community and his church in Baldwinsville, NY prior to moving to Newburyport, MA.

He was predeceased by his loving wife of 43 years, Joan, sister, Gail Barnaby, and son-in-law, Howie Smith.

Jack is survived by his wife, Helen Flaherty and his nine children, Mimi (Dan) Baker, Maureen Tansey, John Buckley III, Mel (Rich) Schock, Anne (Ariane) Buckley, Joan Smith, Karen (John Kopp) Buckley, Bob (Sandy) Buckley and Paul (Erin) Buckley; his grandchildren Serena, Melanie, Jessica, Danielle, Justin, Brendan, John IV, Austin, Alyssa, Joshua, Connor, Benjamin, Eric, Anna, Kyle and Emma; his great-grandchildren Aubriana, Vanessa, Quinn and Roenn; sister, Jill Dangler and several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville, NY on Friday, April 7th. There will be a funeral mass at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse Street, Baldwinsville, NY on Saturday, April 8th at 9:30 a.m.

Donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Joan Buckley Scholarship Fund at St. Mary's Academy in Baldwinsville.
