John R. Adsit, 89, of 61 W. Genesee St., Baldwinsville, died Friday at St. Camillus Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Lysander, he attended Baldwinsville schools and graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology. He retired as a mechanical engineer with Morris Pumps, Baldwinsville, and previously worked at Engelberg Huller of Syracuse and Nestle Chocolate and Confection Co., Fulton. He served on the Lysander Planning Board, and was a former member of the Baldwinsville Rod & Gun Club and former trustee of the Plainville Cemetery Association.
Survivors: His wife of 61 years, Millicent H.; two sons, James L. of Baldwinsville and John R. Jr. of Central Square; three daughters, Martha Hannon of Rochester, Mary Elizabeth Mitchell of Miami, Fla., and Bridget M. Theobald of Minoa; a sister, Barbara Markell of Spring Hill, Fla.; 10 grandchildren.
Services: 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Falardeau Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Spring burial, Plainville Cemetery. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
