Joel S. Berenson-Bart, 60, of Village Boulevard South, Baldwinsville, died Wednesday, October 16, 2002. Born in Brooklyn, he lived in Baldwinsville since 1983. He graduated from Florida Atlantic University. He retired in 2000 as a special education teacher for the Baldwinsville Central School District after 17 years and had also been a special education teacher for Broward County School District for 17 years. He had played football at the University of Florida and coached football and bowling for Baldwinsville schools for several years.

Survivors: His former wife, Nancy Pizio Newport of Liverpool; two daughters, Sheri S. Berenson of Rochester and Angela J. Monica of Baldwinsville; two sons, Richard S. Berenson and Michael V. Bart, both of Rochester; a sister, Elissa Lanzet of East Jewitt; two grandchildren.

Services: 1:00 p.m. Sunday, October 20, 2002, at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Burial will be private. Calling hours, 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, October 19, 2002, at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
