Her love for genealogy and research assisted other members of D.A.R. to trace their own heritage.
Joanne was a former member of the Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, tending to her garden, and was a faithful guardian of her cats through the years.
She was predeceased by her parents, Newell and Helen Barnard; and brother, Jerry Barnard.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, David; son Steve (Darcy) Sant and daughter, Beckie (Wayne) Wasielewski both of Baldwinsville; sister, Sharon Becker of Florida; and grandchildren, Caitlin, Justin, Cameron, and Collin; several nieces and nephews.
There will be no calling hours.
