Joann C. Edwards Kaisa passed away August 25, 2019 at St Josephs' Hospital. She was born November 15, 1968 in Sidney, NY. She graduated from Sidney Central School and earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Syracuse University. She was employed by Catholic Charities and Hillside of Syracuse.

Joann was active in all High school sports, particularly tennis. In her senior year she was president of Glee Club and directed the school musical thus inspiring her life-long love of theater. She was dedicated to her career and steadfast in her efforts to support the children and families with whom she worked. Joann's family was her greatest joy. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend.

Joann is survived by her husband, Kurima, children Jaden and Brenna, her mother, Nancy Edwards of Unadilla, NY; one sister Mrs. Louise Schatz of Winston Salem, NC; One Uncle, Melvin Edwards of Rockdale, NY; One aunt, Sharon Zurn, Mt. Upton N.Y., Several brothers and sisters-in-law, as well as, several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Calling hours Thursday August 29, 2019 from 4pm-7pm, at Falardeau Funeral Home Inc., 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. Services will be at Falardeau Funeral Home Inc. at 11am, Friday, August 30. Burial will be at Oakwood, 940 Comstock Ave, Syracuse, NY 13210, following the service.

In lieu of flowers, in honor of Joann and recognizing how she valued the arts and activities that provide a positive outlet for young people to grow and reach their potential, donations to a scholarship fund to a senior dance student at Infinity Dance Academy may be made.
