Obituary

Jimmy Crespo, aka Jimmy Crespo Suarez, was born on August 21, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York and died on March 4, 2026 at The St. Luke Family of Caring in Oswego, New York. Jimmy was the beloved son of Felicita and Adolfo Crespo, and brother of Adolfo Jr., Fernando, Daniel, Yolanda and Marcos. He grew up in Brooklyn, New York, lived a short time in Bayamon, Puerto Rico, and then returned to Brooklyn, New York where he would spend the majority of his life.

Jimmy graduated from Manhattan Vocational and Technical High School in 1983. He immediately recognized his entrepreneurial spirit and started his own business, JCS General Services, that he devoted himself tirelessly to for almost 32 years. Jimmy always looked for opportunities to better himself and was a promoter of education. This motivation led him to attend City University of New York in 1997 where he studied Environmental Control Technologies. He later became a teacher to share his vast knowledge of his trade, until he realized the need to take care of his health. Jimmy loved music, songs like "Ain't No Stopping Us Now" and the Spanish version, "No Nos Pararan!" He also loved his salsa and was just an all around music lover. Jimmy always wanted to buy a house for our mother. He eventually fulfilled his dream when he bought their house in Bayamon, Puerto Rico.

Jimmy was known by his family and friends to always motive everyone to seek education and opportunities to better yourself, to always make things right, and to "Stay strong!" Jimmy always hated injustices and had a fire to help anyone to seek justice. He at one time studied the Bible and admired that Jehovah God felt the same way. But Jimmy would often asked: "When is justice going to prevail?" A Scripture that he appreciated was the hope in Isaiah 35:6: "At that time the lame will leap like the deer, and the tongue of the speechless will shout for joy. For waters will burst forth in the wilderness, and streams in the desert plain."

Jimmy put some of his feelings in writing, which best describes what was important to him: "You need more than wishes to transform an idea into something tangible. But a well considered wish is a terrific starting point for a plan of action to be set in motion. The sum total of recent events may prove to be more than what each occurrence on its own face value would suggest. Visualize with vivid detail what you want to see happen. Even one small step taken in that direction, helps aim creative energy toward manifestation of your vision. Clarity of intent combined with constructive action can bring a dream closer to becoming reality."

Jimmy is survived by his mother, Felicita Crespo, siblings, Adolfo Jr, Fernando, Daniel, Yolanda, Marcos and their spouses, Aunts Titi Carmen, Tia Rosa (Madrina), as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Burial will be in Rosedale/Rosehill Cemetery, Linden, NJ.
