Jane Hale passed away Saturday, July 16, after a lengthy illness at Loretto RCHF in Jamesville, NY. She was born August 28, 1923, in South Portland, Maine, graduated from South Portland high school and attended secretarial school. As a young woman, she worked as a secretary at Fort Williams, Cape Elizabeth Maine during World War II. When her children left for college, she was employed as a secretary for the Baldwinsville Central School District Office.

Jane was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was noted for her delicious homemade pies and cookies as well as her "Jane from Maine" sense of humor. She enjoyed traveling, playing golf, dancing, sailing, bridge club, and time with her family. Jane was an active member of the Baldwinsville Presbyterian Church and Chapter 219 Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a devoted volunteer for the Baldwinsville Meals on Wheels as well as the Syracuse Home.

Jane is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, Fred Hale, Jr.; three children Linda (Gerald) Vredenburg of Lafayette, NY, Christopher (Lynn) Hale of Norfolk, VA, and Fred (Terry) Hale, III, of Pittsford, NY; 6 grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; brother Ralph (Faith) Strachan of Scarborough, ME; and several nieces and nephews.

Words cannot express the family's deep appreciation to all of the staff at Loretto RCHF for the kindness, comfort, and compassion shown to Jane and her family.

In honor of Jane's life, contributions can be made to Forget Me Not Alzheimer's Disease-CARE Fund, 435 E. Henrietta Rd, Rochester, NY 14620.
