James A. Lowery, Jr., 84, of Baldwinsville, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at his home after a short illness. He was born in Youngstown, OH and was a Navy Veteran of WWII. He received his Bachelor's Degree at Youngstown College where he was honored with a YC Pin for "Most Academic and All-Around Student". He was co-founder of WSEN in Baldwinsville where he was Vice President and co-owner from 1959 – 1981. James loved sports and was a play-by-play broadcaster mainly for high school football and basketball. He won many awards for this particular skill and later became known as the "Voice of Oswego County" at WSGO in Oswego. He was a long-time parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville where he was an usher for 50 years.

Survivors: his wife of 60 years, Marjorie G.; his son, James A. (Karen) Lowery, III of Frisco, TX; three grandchildren, James A. Lowery, IV, Alexandra Lowery and Matthew Lowery; his cousin, Mary Theresa Edwards of Youngstown, OH.

Services: 10:00am Friday, September 24, 2010 at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville,. Burial, St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville. Calling hours are 4-7pm Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
