IN LOVING MEMORY OF
James
Jackson
October 3, 1927 – January 14, 2017
James McCarson Jackson, 89, of Baldwinsville, NY. The man who came with the house has left; he passed away peacefully Saturday morning. Jim was born and raised in Western PA, the son of the late James Oscar and Eleanor McCarson Jackson. He was a graduate of Shady Side Academy and Lehigh University (where he was a champion wrestler). After college, he moved to New York State to begin an engineering career with General Electric. Jim was a lifelong engineer, from a family of engineers; he worked his whole life solving problems. After retiring from G.E. he pursued his many and varied interests including gentleman farming, printing, genealogy, astronomy, photography, technical journals, and all sorts of construction. No problem was too big or small; when diagnosed with high blood pressure he began cooking, adapting all his recipes, making his own bread and maintaining a low sodium diet for over two decades, well documented in years of spreadsheets.
Predeceased by his wife of 57 years, Priscilla Ashley Jackson, his sister Eleanor J. B. Migdal and brother Charles McCarson Jackson.
He is survived by his five children, Mary Alice (Earl) Westerlund of Binghamton, NY, Susan (Don) Morgan of West Palm Beach, FL, Steven (Amy) Jackson of Elbridge, NY, Elizabeth (Pat) McCartin of Buford, GA, and Amy Jackson of NYC. He also leaves eight grandchildren and an assortment of nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, January 16th at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer Street, Baldwinsville. Services and burial will be private. Donations may be made in his honor to the Female Charitable Society, 10 River St., Baldwinsville NY 13027 or National Parkinson's Foundation.
