Obituary

James "Jim" Finan, 85, of Baldwinsville passed away Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the Veterans Medical Center. He was born in Syracuse and resided in Baldwinsville since 1989. Jim graduated from North High School. He was a Navy veteran of WW II, serving in the Pacific Theater 1943-45. He retired from Solvay Process Div., Allied Chemical Corp. after 29 years of service. He was also a former employee of Church & Cwight Co., Princeton, NJ.

Jim was a life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #5082 and served as Faithful Comptroller of the Fourth Degree, Assembly #777. He was treasurer of the Ironwood Senior Golf League since 1996. He was past treasurer of the Allied Signal Association. Jim was a member of the Assumption Church Usher's Association for 50 years and was also a member of the Holy Name Society.

Survivors: his wife of 39 years, Monique Finan; two sister, Mary "Betty" Kelly of Camillus and Virginia Whited of Chicago, IL; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 10:00am Wednesday , July 15, 2009, at St. Augustines Church, 7333 O'Brien Road, Baldwinsville. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, DeWitt. Calling hours are 4-7pm Tuesday, July 14, 2009, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
