James A. Branagan, 63, of Weedsport died January 22, 2026, at Auburn Community Hospital after a long illness. Born in Oneida to David and Kathryn (Ashmus) Branagan, he served in the Army and National Guard and later worked as a tractor trailer driver.

He is survived by his partner, Stacy Weatherstone; daughters, Emily Karsten and Jane Branagan and their mother, Kim Thompson Branagan; step-daughters, Kimberly Blake and Carrie Kent; three step-grandchildren; sisters, Debbie Davis and Ann Dorward; father David; aunt Lois Eckel; stepfather, Bob Nash; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his second wife Margaret Blake; mother; sister Diane Ireland; and brother, BJ Nash; and his step-grandson, Blake.
