Obituary

James E. Baker, Sr., 74, of Syracuse died Monday, February 16, 2004 at Syracuse Home Assoc.. He was born in E. Syracuse and lived in the Syracuse area all of his life and spent Summers the past ten years at Brennan Beach. Jim was a 1947 graduate of CBA and was employed 31 years with Canteen Vending. James was a communicant of St. Augustine's Church and an original member of the ushers guild and a former member of the parish council. He was pre-deceased by two daughters, Diane M. Porter in 1999 and Karen A. Neupert in 2002.

Survivors: his wife of 53 years, the former Marilyn Alexander; four daughters, Patricia Lambert of San Clemente, CA, Julie Svitak of Syracuse, Marie Mazzeo of Chittenango, Janet Baker of The Woodlands, TX; three sons, James, Jr. of Weedsport, Michael of Ashville, NC, and Joseph of No. Syracuse; 36 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Services: 10:00am Saturday, February 21, 2004 at St. Augustines Church , O'Brien Road Baldwinsville. Burial in Sacred heart Cemetery, Lakeland Calling hours are 2-4 & 7-9pm Friday, February 20, 2004 at St. Augustine's Church.
