Obituary

Irving G. Candee, 97, of Baldwinsville, passed away Wednesday at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place.

Born in Phoenix, he moved to Baldwinsville in 1951.

He owned Baldwinsville Steel Building Company for many years and then in 1978 he formed a partnership to establish MCK Building Associates. Irving was previously employed with Rollway Bearing for many years. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and wine making.

Irving was a life member and chief emeritus of the Belgium Cold Spings Fire Department and an officer with the Onondaga County Fire Chiefs Association. He was a member and paramedic with the GBAC. He was a faithful member of the St. Mark's Lutheran Church.

Irving was predeceased by his wife, Virginia; parents; and five siblings.

Surviving are his children, Judy (Bob) Medina of Camillus, Kevin (Cristina) Candee of TN, Michael (Kim) Candee, of Baldwinsville, Jackie Kowalski, of Baldwinsville, and Jeff (Kelly) Candee, of Baldwinsville; sister, Marjorie (Bill) Godfrey of Pennellville; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, December 9, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A funeral service will follow at noon at the funeral home. Burial will be private in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Belgium Cold Springs Fire Department and the Greater Baldwinsville Ambulance Corps.
