Obituary

Herbert F. Baehr, 97, of Liverpool passed away Tuesday, March 5, 2013, at St. Josephs Hospital with his family by his side. Born in Plainfield, NJ, he moved to the Baldwinsville area in 1977. A graduate of State Teachers College in Newark, NJ, he received his masters degree from Columbia University School of Administration. Herbert retired in 1977 as assistant superintendent at Valley Stream Union Free District 13 School in Long Island after 26 years with the school. He was a former member of the North Syracuse Baptist Church, a member of Gideons International, a former member and past-president of of the Board of Education in Freeport, Long Island and a member of the Board of Directors of Christian Camps, Inc. Deerfoot Lodge. Herbert served in the US Navy during WWII.

He was predeceased by his first wife Lily Mackenzie Baehr in 1997 and his second wife Mary Austin-Baehr in 2008.

Survivors: his children, Barbara B. Kiser, Frederick and Nancy Baehr and Bruce and Barbara Baehr; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Services: 4:00 pm Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Grace Covenant Church, 5300 State Route 31, Clay. Spring burial in Plainville Cemetery, Plainville, NY
