Obituary

Howard Kenneth "Kenny" Richards, beloved husband and father, passed away on October 12, 2024. He was born on Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA on May 14, 1955.

Kenny was predeceased by his parents, William and Mary Richards. He is survived by his wife Laura Richards; children Emily Robideau, spouse David Bish, Deanna Coleman, spouse Christopher, and David Richards, partner Moriah Gilkey; grandchildren Kyle, Carter, Mia, Charlie, and Kaelyn; and his siblings Cynthia Hitsman, spouse Steven, Timothy Richards, partner Cindi Ayers and Bob Richards, spouse Karen, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Kenny retired in 2010 after a long career as Chief Safety Officer for the NYS DPWDD. He served on the board for the Baldwinsville Youth Soccer Association and was a long-time member of the Elks, serving as New York State Vice President and District Deputy. He brought smiles to many faces by volunteering to play Santa Claus and was an avid dog-lover, hunter, fisher, history buff, and could feed a small army with his love of gardening. He enjoyed traveling, being outdoors, and was a weekly blood platelet donor. Above all, he deeply loved his family and friends and will be sorely missed.
