Obituary

Gloria Sylvia Love, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2026 at the age of 90, in Syracuse, New York. She was born on April 3, 1935, in Eckville, Alberta, Canada. Gloria was a devoted homemaker who cherished her family above all else. She was a beloved mother and friend who spent her later years in Baldwinsville, NY with her son and his family.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents Herman and Emma Lapp and her husband Richard Love.

She is survived by her children, Geoffrey (Molly) Lange, of Baldwinsville, NY; Lorna (Marco Cortes) Lange of Kamas, Utah; and Sally (Joshua) Witkowski of Libertyville, IL; and grandchildren Sarah (Drew) Antolik of Ontario, NY; Allison (Jacob) Potter of Colorado Springs, CO; and Matthew Lange of Baldwinsville, NY; and three great-grandchildren Claire and Danielle Antolik; and Henry Potter. She is also survived by her younger siblings June Kinsella of Melbourne, Australia and Roy Lapp of Victoria, BC, Canada.

Gloria's first language was Estonian, a reflection of her heritage, as she was born to Estonian parents in Alberta, Canada. She moved to the United States in the 1960s, embracing her new home in Erie, PA for 50 years while raising her three children with love and devotion.

Gloria's life was filled with joy and creativity. A talented piano teacher and avid musician, she filled her home with music, sharing her passion with her children and grandchildren and anyone who crossed her path. Her enduring positivity left a lasting impression on all who knew her. Gloria embraced her faith wholeheartedly, always trusting in her savior, Jesus, and this unwavering belief shone through in her benevolent spirit. She was a friend to all, and had the special gift of embracing everyone unconditionally.

She enjoyed traveling with her husband, Richard, and created unforgettable memories in beautiful places like Niagara-on-the-Lake, the Chautauqua Institution, and even Australia. These experiences enriched her life and enabled her to connect with family.

Gloria will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and the countless lives she touched. Her joyful spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of her family and friends.

A celebration of Gloria's life will be held this summer. The family invites loved ones and friends to join them in honoring her memory and sharing in the joy she brought to so many.
