Gerald E. "Jerry" Gray, 94, of Baldwinsville, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Baldwinsville, Jerry was owner of Jerry's Plumbing and Heating for over 60 years.He was a Korean War veteran of the Army and a communicant of St. Mary's Church.
Jerry was a Judo instructor in Syracuse, NY for several years. In his spare time, he enjoyed collecting and restoring antique clocks, and playing the harmonica.He will be remembered not only for his hard work and sense of humor, but for the countless ways he quietly helped others.
Jerry was predeceased by his parents, Harold and Eva Gray; wife, Anne; his sisters, Doretta Jean, Marion Ellithorpe, Geraldine Holt, Elsie Murzyn, and Doris Younis, a brother, Kenneth; and grandson, Matthew.
Surviving are his children, Michael (Sheryl) Gray, Michelle "Shelly" Killian, Mary Jo Gray, Jane Desimone, Timothy (Colleen) Gray, Bonnie Bowman, Jacquelyn (Andy) Pompo, Christine (Darryl) Klos; nieces, nephews, and several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 22, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St., Baldwinsville.Burial will be in the Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery at a later date.
