Obituary

George A. Friedrich, 92, of Baldwinsville, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place. Born in Syracuse, he was a 1952 graduate of Blodgett Vocational High School and a 1977 graduate of CCBI.

George was employed with Martisco Corporation in Liverpool for over 45 years retiring as vice president of sales.

In 1955, George married his beloved wife, Janice Young Friedrich, and together they enjoyed over 66 years of marriage, traveling and making wonderful memories. George was a proud Army veteran, having served from 1956 to 1958.

As a communicant of St. Augustine's Church, George was heavily involved in his parish, serving as a Eucharistic minister and usher, and he enjoyed being a part of the Knights of Columbus Council #5082.

George loved music and dancing, and he relished his time on the softball field and basketball court. But nothing brought him more joy than spending quality time with his family, and his good sense of humor.

George is predeceased by his wife, of 66 years, Janice Young Friedrich; and his seven siblings, Wilfred Friedrich, Doris Sealy, Janet Caprice, Sally McCue, Joseph Friedrich, Kurt Friedrich, and Shirley Brogan.

Surviving are his children, Mark (Terri) Friedrich of New Port News, Va, Kristine (George) Brindak of Syracuse, Teresa (Raymond) Harnisch Jr. of Sun City, AZ, and Katherine (Robert) Lavallee of Red Creek; five grandchildren, Jason Friedrich, Michael Brindak, Raymond Harnish III, Steven Brindak, and Samantha Harnish; three great-grandchildren, Wyatt Friedrich, Brayden DeVere, and Claire Brindak; and many nieces and nephews.

The family expresses heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Camillus Ridge and Syracuse Home at McHarrie Place for their compassionate care during George's later years. Their kindness and dedication brought comfort to him and his family.

At George's request, services will be private.
