Gary W. Stearns, 70, of Baldwinsville passed peacefully at Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville. He was born in Buffalo, NY and grew up in West Seneca, NY where he was known as "Stormy" by his classmates at West Seneca High School, and graduated the class of 1963. Gary was a 4-year veteran of the Navy Submarine Service, serving on the USS Whale.

In 1969, Gary and Lois J. (Valade) Stearns wed in S. Windsor, CT. Gary graduated from Clarkson University with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and was a member of the Delta Epsilon fraternity. Following graduation, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Stearns moved to Hampton, VA where Gary worked at Newport News Ship Building & Dry Dock. Afterwards, they moved to Baldwinsville, where Gary began his 18-year career in management at Miller Brewing Company in Fulton. After the closing of Miller, Gary started his own company, HSP Technical Services.

Gary was active in the community as: Troop Leader for Boy Scout Troop 107; District Commissioner for the Hiawatha Council; member of the Masonic Lodge; and a longstanding member of the Baldwinsville Optimist Club.

Gary is predeceased by his parents, and brother, Roger Stearns.

Survivors: his loving wife of 46 years, Lois; sons William and John; daughters-in-law Christina (Becallo) Stearns and Sarah (Dorr) Stearns; grandchildren Alec Stearns, Dayna Stearns, Damien Sausville, Raelyn Stearns, Juliana Stearns, and Joan Sampson; sister-in-law Edie Stearns; and many nieces and nephews.

Services: Calling Hours will be open to the public and held on Tuesday, August 11th from 4 pm - 7 pm at Falardeau Funeral Home in Baldwinsville. Services will be private for the family only, on Wednesday, August 12th.
