Obituary

Frederick C. Reed III, of Baldwinsville, New York, passed away peacefully on Feb. 23, 2025 at the age of 93. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Fred lived a life of service, curiosity, and dedication to his family, faith, and community.


Fred is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Delores Reed. He is survived by his children, Lawrence Reed and his wife Michele, Pauline Majchrzak, Thomas Reed and wife Jo Ann, Frederick Reed IV and wife Deanna and foster daughter Theresa Debo. He also leaves behind cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grand children, as well as countless friends and colleagues who were inspired by his warmth and generosity.

Fred dedicated much of his professional life to advancing cancer research during his tenure at Bristol Laboratories. Beyond his career, he was an engaged and enthusiastic member of his community. A proud leader and mentor, he served as Pack Master for Boy Scout Pack 189, instilling values of integrity and resilience in countless young scouts.
Fred's deep faith was central to his life. At the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwinsville, NY, he served tirelessly in numerous roles, including Deacon, Trustee, Session member, and Teaching Elder. His commitment to nurturing the church and its congregation was unwavering.
Fred was also deeply passionate about his work with the Civil Air Patrol, where he held several officer positions. His contributions to this organization reflected his love of aviation and his commitment to service.
Fred's life was marked by compassion, dedication, and a desire to leave the world better than he found it. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him.

Calling hours will be held at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville, on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 10 - 11:30 AM with a  Funeral Service to follow beginning at 11:30. Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
