Obituary

Fred D. Baur, 75, of Baldwinsville died Thursday. Born in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., he lived in the Syracuse area since 1946. He graduated from Syracuse University in 1956. He retired after 23 years as a probation officer with the Onondaga County Probation Department. He was a 17-year member of the Marcellus Volunteer Fire Department & Ambulance Corps, post commander of Baldwinsville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 153, past master of the Morning Star Masonic Lodge 524, Marcellus, and a member of the Liverpool Elks Club. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean War.

Survivors: His wife of 17 years, Florence J.; a daughter, Tracey Baur of California; three stepdaughters, Florence Anderson of Baldwinsville, Laura Kean of Albany, and Lisa Hardwick of Cleveland, Ohio; a son, Robert of Marcellus; two stepsons, Timothy Kean of Savannah, Ga., and Thomas Kean of Phoenix, Ariz.; a sister, Mitz May of Palm Bay, Fla.; seven grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Dec. 8 in St. Stephen's Church. Burial, private. No calling hours. Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville, has arrangements.
