Obituary

Frank L. Szakaly, 65, of Baldwinsville died Saturday October 18, 2014 at University Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born in Fountain Hill, PA and graduated from Saucon Valley High School in 1967. Frank was a United States Navy Vietnam Veteran serving aboard the USS Cascade as a machine repairman. He worked at Cooper/Crouse-Hinds for 29 years. He was a lifelong member of the NRA and Camillus Sportsmen's Club and a member of American Legion Post 1276. "Szak" was an excellent chef and enjoyed all types of cooking and trying different cuisines. He enjoyed driving his 1950 Ford Custom Deluxe, was an avid fan of Sherlock Holmes, a gunsmith and enjoyed reading books.

Survivors: his wife Karen (Stapleton) Szakaly of 37 years, son Frank Joseph (Christina), one brother and sister, father-in-law Donald Stapleton, brother-in-law Andrew Stapleton, nephew Kyle Stapleton and niece Melinda Stapleton

Services: Calling hours are Tuesday October 21, 2014 4 to 7pm at St. Augustine's Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday 10am at St Augustine's Church 7333 O'Brien Rd, Baldwinsville, Burial will be in Onondaga County Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
