Francis J. Wiecek, 90, died peacefully in his sleep on July 2, 2016. He was a lifelong resident of Syracuse, NY.

Francis was a World War II Navy veteran aboard the U.S.S. Pickaway. He worked as a maintenance electrician for General Electric for 42 years and enjoyed 25 years of retirement with his family and friends.
Francis is predeceased by his one true love, his wife, Irene and his parents, John and Marsella Wiecek, and his many brothers and sisters.

Francis is survived by his children, David (Tammy) Wiecek of Fort Plain, NY, Diane (John) Lesher of Sherrill, NY, Elaine (William) Walters of Sharpsburg, GA, Robert (Susan) Wiecek of Fulton, NY and Daniel (Sharon) Wiecek of Baldwinsville, NY; 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Senior Home Care Solutions who provided Francis with wonderful companions and the ability to live at home for many years.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, July 11 at St Mary's of Assumption Church, 47 Syracuse St, Baldwinsville, NY. Calling hours will be 9:30-11:30 am Monday, July 11 at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial will at St. Mary's Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
