Francis A. Payne, 69, of Rufus Circle, Syracuse, died Saturday (04/20/02). Born in Phoenix, he lived in Baldwinsville for most of his life. He had a winter home in Zephyrhills, Fla. He retired in 1989 after 26 years at P & C Warehouse. He was a member of the Agape Baptist Church in Zephyrhills.

Survivors: His wife of 50 years, the former Shirley J. Manwarren; three daughters, Sharon Fien and Valerie Gould, both of Baldwinsville, and Karen Strife of Syracuse; a son, Timothy of Zephyrhills; a sister, Lucille Amidon of Cicero; six grandchildren, Michael J. Coomey V, Kristina Fien-Dorris, Jodi L. Pientka, Ryan J. Gould, Amber L. Gould & Candace M. Payne; two great-grandchildren, Alexis R. Coomey & Michael J. Coomey VI.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday (04/24/02) at Falardeau Funeral Home. Burial, Chase Cemetery. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday (04/23/03)at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
