Francis W. Brotherton, 84, of Division Street, Baldwinsville, died Tuesday at Syracuse Home Association, Baldwinsville. He was born in Baldwinsville. He retired in 1978 as a wholesale delivery man after 27 years with Byrne Dairy, Syracuse, and was a bus aide for children with disabilities in Baldwinsville School District. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville, and a life member of Baldwinsville Volunteer Fire Department. He received the Baldwinsville Chamber of Commerce 1964 Man of the Year award. He and his wife operated the Teen Canteen in Baldwinsville. He founded and was leader of Boy Scout Troop 80, coached Little League and was a member of Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 644. His first wife, the former Bonney E., died in 1973.
Survivors: His wife of 27 years, Jane A.; two daughters, Beverly M. Harper of Cato and Carol A. McMahon of Baldwinsville; a son, William F. of Baldwinsville; a stepdaughter, JoAnn Mills of Meridian; two sisters, Thelma Dickinson of Chittenango and Nora Wengrzynek of Baldwinsville; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
Services: 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Falardeau Funeral Home and 9 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial, White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Calling hours, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
