Floyd A. Van Wie, 84, of Baldwinsville, NY passed away on September 10, 2025 surrounded by his family. He was born on November 27, 1940 to the late James & Mary (Reeves) Van Wie. He lived most of his life in Baldwinsville. He was part of the bowling team at Baldwinsville Academy & Central School where he graduated in 1958.

Floyd enlisted in the Navy in 1958 & served 3 years, most of that time aboard the USS Bristol, where he earned the rank BT3, boiler technician third class.

After the Navy, Floyd came home & worked in the family business, Van Wie Chevrolet. He worked in many positions there, including mechanic, service manager, & sales manager, eventually becoming a part owner of the dealership. After almost 25 years there, Floyd went to work for his brother-in-law, Dan Dullen at Dullen Cabinetry & Construction, where he built houses, replaced roofs & built custom cabinets for 17 years.

Floyd met his wife, Kathleen (Dullen), in high school. They married in 1963, spending more than 60 years together. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, gardening, history, cooking, going to Navy ship reunions & after retirement at the end of 2005, spending part of each winter in Florida.

Floyd was predeceased by his wife, Kathleen & his brother, Richard. He is survived by his 3 children- Eric (Deborah), David (LouAnn) & Maureen (Dave) Van Slyke, brother John (Carolyn), 4 grandchildren & 3 great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held from 11AM to 1PM on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville. A service will begin at 1PM with burial to follow at Jacksonville Cemetery.
