Esther M. Rounds, 94, of Baldwinsville, passed away at Syracuse Home on Saturday, April 17. Born in Princetown, NY to the late John and Idabella Jones. After graduating high school in 1943, Esther attended Bob Jones College where she earned her bachelor's degree in 1949. Faith was a important part of Esther's life, following her education, she worked for National Mission as a Presbyterian l Worker in 18 churches over a period of 5.5 years. While serving as a Director of Christian Education in Dayton, OH, she met Earl Brinkerhoff to whom she was married from 1957 till his death in 1993. The couple moved to Jamesville, NY, where Esther served as Sunday School Superintendent, as well as an Administrative Assistant for; First Presbyterian Church of Syracuse, Syracuse Council of Churches, State Council of Churches, the State Office for Aging, and was also Superintendent of Christian Education at First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville, where she retired in 1991. Following her retirement, she served as a pastoral Assistant from 1995 – 1999 when she retired for the final time. In 2000 Esther married Ralph Rounds and shared in life with him until his passing in 2006.In addition to her parents and husbands, Esther was predeceased by her sister Ada ByceSurviving is her sister, Barbara Cronan, 3 nieces, stepdaughter Sharon Herrling, stepson Dana (Sheila) Rounds, stepdaughter Marge (Don) Algood, and a special friend Nancy Landon.The family will receive visitors on Friday, April 30th at First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville from 9 -11 am with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00. Burial will be private in Howlett Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heifer International (heifer.org) or the salvation army.
