Elaine "WeeWee" Hammond, 87, of Baldwinsville passed away Wednesday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Deferiet, she married the love of her life, Ward Hammond in 1969 and lived in Baldwinsville for over 50 years. Elaine was a teaching assistant for the Baldwinsville School District for many years.

She had a love of music and poetry and was an accomplished pianist and published poet. Elaine was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband, Ward in 2012; and her seven siblings.

Surviving are her children, Deborah E. (Layton) Kerr of Ottawa, Ontario and David (Anlene Mae) Hammond of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Layton Ward Kerr, Adelaine Kathleen Kerr, and Allison Mae Hammond.

There will be no calling hours. Services will be private. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
