Edward W. Sobotka, Jr., 80, of Baldwinsville passed away Saturday, November 30, 2013, at St. Josephs Hospital after a lengthy illness. Eddie was born August 23, 1933 in Syracuse to Edward W. Sobotka, Sr. and Sophie Kulas Sobotka. Eddie served honorably in the US Army 1955-56 and was retired from the Engineering Dept. of Crouse-Hinds where he worked for 44 years. He was a communicant of St. Mary's church. He enjoyed fishing and summering at Groman Shores, Sandy Pond.

His wife the former Mary Patricia Hart survives along with two daughters,Mary Beth (Randy) Loveless and Patricia Ann Sobotka-Wright; a brother, John (Janet) Sobotka; a sister, Joyce (Walt) Malloy; a brother-in-law, Jack "John" Smith; grandchildren, Matthew, Timothy and Allison Wright and Emily Loveless; two great-grandchildren, Sophie and Elliot Wright; two sisters-in-law, Jean Fitzgibbons and Marlene Raab as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Smith.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00am Wednesday, December 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends are invited to call from 4 to 7pm, Tuesday, December, 3, 2013, at the Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St., Baldwinsville.
