Edward J. McManus, Jr., 75, passed away on March 4, 2021, at home after a brief illness.
Born in Utica, he grew up in Syracuse, graduated from Christian Brothers Academy and LeMoyne College, and moved to Baldwinsville in 1976. Dedication to his family was always his primary focus. He served decades on Baldwinsville Public Library's board, and, as president, guided construction of the new library building. A charter member of McHarrie's Legacy, he served 42 years on its board and was the current president of the Friends of Beaver Lake Nature Center. He was an active parishioner at St. Mary's. For his legacy of service to the community, he was named Man of the Year in 2014 by the Baldwinsville Volunteer Center. He enjoyed a successful career in finance with local manufacturing and was a president of the Syracuse chapter of the National Association of Accountants.

Survivors: Sue Ellen McManus, wife of 52 years; son Edward J. (Ted) McManus III and his wife Laurie Rossbach with grandson Rowan; son Patrick R. McManus and his wife Melanie Ellsworth with granddaughter Meara; sister Kathleen Gilchrist and her husband Tim; and Ed's sister Virginia.

Services: Private family funeral and burial; public memorial mass at a later date.
