Edward George Hughes, 78, of Syracuse passed away on August 1st 2015 at Syracuse VA Medical Center. He was born and raised in Little Falls, he was predeceased by his mother, Mary A. Sheehan Stockwell and his grandparents Walter Sheehan and Mary Sheehan.


He is survived by his loving wife Regina Parker Hughes, and three step-children: Dawn Parker, Roger Parker Jr. and Diana Parker Mullen.



Edward enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and traveling with his wife to Cape Cod. He served in the Air Force for four years and was an Air Traffic Controller in England. He worked as an Optometrist and later for several security agencies.



Services: Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday, August 5 from 10am – 12pm at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 3474 Stiles Road. Funeral Service will follow at Noon officiated by Rev. Gordon Pearsall. Interment to follow in Riverview Cemetery.
