Douglas Gates, 57, passed away Wednesday, December 30 surrounded by his family. He was born in Syracuse to Gene and Nancy Gates and lived in the Syracuse area his entire life. Doug was a long time employee of Precision Systems. He enjoyed fishing and was a skilled carpenter, even building a Log Cabin in Redwood. Doug's favorite place to visit was the family camp on Millsite Lake.
Doug is predeceased by his father, Gene Gates and brother-in-law, Stephen Davison.
Doug is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary Gates; mother, Nancy Gates; daughter, Amanda Rose Cole; grandson, Jason Elmer; God-daughter, Kayle Morau; sisters, Georgia Davison, Elaine Cordova, and Karen (James) Moore; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Calling hours are 4-7 pm Monday, January 4 at Falardeau Funeral Home, 93 Downer St, Baldwinsville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
