Douglas Fredrick Fischel, 68, of Fulton, NY, passed away on September 9, 2026. He was born on November 2, 1957, in Syracuse, NY.

Doug was one of a kind. Anyone lucky enough to know him has a story or an unforgettable memory. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, known to put a smile on your face with his uncensored sense of humor. He spent much of his working life in the construction industry as a skilled drywall finisher and was respected for his hard work and craftsmanship.

Music was one of his great joys. For more than 30 years, he sang in various bands, sharing that passion with friends and family. He also loved riding motorcycles and was happiest when he was surrounded by the people he cared about.

Above all else, he loved his wife, his "angel," as he called her, along with his children and grandchildren. He loved his family very much and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.

Doug is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judy Fischel; his son, Douglas (Ragina) Fischel; his daughters, Carrie (Robert) Young, Christy (Michael) Bower, and Megan (Dereck) Borrow; and his grandchildren, KayLee, Whitney, Kalista, Riley, Hunter, Miranda, Alyssa, Savannah, Chace, Rebecca, Cadence, Marissa and Shelby. He is also survived by his brothers, Drew Fischel and Ricki Fischel, and his sisters, Dolores Northup and Patricia Fuller along with several nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his father, Drew Fischel; his mother, Betty Howell; and his stepfather, Richard Howell.
